Money will be a big focus this month, and you will need to do the best you can until your prospects perk up in January. Mars, your ruler, has been touring your second house since October 28, draining your bank account. That's not the easiest place to host Mars, for it does tend to create a need for high spending. Fortunately, Mars is leaving on December 7, not to be back for two years, and very soon the spending will drop and you will feel more in control of your finances. While touring your second house, however, he made you more motivated to find additional money, if only by necessity.
There's more reason for cheer. The new moon, December 5, will help you find added income. It is the one and only new moon in your solar second house of salary in 2011. Saturn will be very encouraging to this new moon, which will be strong for two full weeks after it appears. Saturn is known to add rock-solid stability to all that it touches, so this new moon behooves you to start searching out your options.
Venus, also associated with money, will be in strong, supportive angle to Pluto in your house of agreements, so you may be working on a deal that has large scope and big profit potential. Go slowly because if you rush, you will miss clues and clauses that will come back to bite you.
I say that because Mercury will be retrograde December 10 to 30, but you will feel the slowdown from the moment the month begins. You simply cannot seal deals yet. Keep up your efforts to find more income, even though you may feel pulled back and delayed by Mercury retrograde. Mercury rules commerce - buying, selling, negotiating, contracts - the works. When Mercury goes into apparent retrograde motion, this planet weakens and all these areas suffer.
In your case, Mercury will retrograde in your third house of agreements, and also retrograde back into your money house, causing glitches and delays in both houses. You would be wise not to sign any papers until you get to mid-January, even though Mercury will technically be retrograde from December 10 to 30.
The reason I say wait until mid-January is that we have two eclipses on the way and until they have spoken, you won't know the whole story, and should not forge any new agreements or make any big decisions. Eclipses always add twists and turns we do not expect, and they always bring in dynamic, changing elements from the outside world that we need to consider, too. Those are always new elements. Eclipses are always in a rush to provide truth, and their job is to illuminate things in such a way that we feel motivated to act, even if it is not a convenient time. (The universe just laughs when we say we don't have the time to think about these matters - eclipses push us forward, ready or not.)
The Sun will be involved in this trio, and since the Sun rules your career, you may have a setback that proves upsetting. Career and money do go together and fit into the puzzle of your chart this month. Take nothing for granted now, for everything is in flux. Fortunately, Jupiter may be able to help you, for Jupiter is still in Pisces, and Jupiter in good angle to the Sun represents enormous help. Those born on November 15 or later will be particularly well positioned to get Jupiter's help.
If you are looking for a job, have a friend pose as an interviewer at a large company and have her call for a reference. You need to know what is being said about you in private. A foreign company or a media company could be part of the plot of this eclipse.
Here is some encouraging news. You may have already felt the problems and financial drain of this eclipse last month. All eclipses can be felt either a month to the day earlier (November 21), or one month to the day later (January 21). In each case, add a plus or minus five days. If you had a stressful time last month with money, and already had to borrow money from a friend or parent (family is ruled by Uranus), then you might have already received the news of this eclipse. If the five days near November 21 were difficult and you did feel it, you likely won't be affected this time.
Still, even so, it'll be wise to keep your antenna up as you get closer to December 21. Be cautious about anyone who owes you money and be careful about whom you extend credit to this month. There is a chance you will have your funds delayed, or not get them at all. If you are expecting an infusion of venture capital, keep talking to your sponsor all month - something could happen near this difficult eclipse December 21.
Remember, astrology will describe all the conditions surrounding a situation, but ultimately, in the end you will control the outcome. That has to be good news, and this is always true, not just now. Many people mistakenly assume the outcome is a done deal in astrology, but nothing could be farther from the truth. You CAN outsmart events at an eclipse.
The eighth house also rules surgery, so instead of any of the financial changes I have talked about, it is alternatively possible you might decide you need to check yourself in to have the operation you've been putting off. Dental procedures come under "surgery" too, so it could be that. If you have done your research and have gotten second opinions, then you are ready to move ahead.
If the surgery is elective, then wait until January. Plastic surgery is an example of elective surgery, but there are other examples, of course. If the surgery is an emergency - your tooth is hurting, your leg is broken - of course, you need to have your procedure done almost instantly. I once needed very serious surgery that came up suddenly on an eclipse, and it went very well.
The eighth house rules transformation of energy, so if you are wondering why money and surgery would be in the same house of the horoscope, I will explain. In the case of surgery, the surgeon takes out the part of you that is hurting you so that you can use your energy more productively and heal.
In the case of other people's money, in ancient days, the eighth house only ruled money from inheritance ("money from the dead"), but now, in modern days, we include money from banks, venture capital, credit cards, bonuses, insurance companies, child support, and other non-earned income. Money is really stored energy - you or someone else worked for it and were paid - and that money can transform your life in some way.
This is the first of several eclipses that will be falling in your financial sectors in 2011 and 2012, and in May 2013. Eclipses come in pairs, six months apart. It seems certain that you soon will be making your money from a new source, and that your financial life will change in some respects. Scorpio is really good with money, so you will ride out the changes quite well and make things work for you.
Some of the coming eclipses will be very favorable, and some like this one will be challenging. The message will be that it will be increasingly wise to have contingency plans, as the one source you rely on may not come thorough. We all get these lessons from time to time and they make us much stronger and wiser over time.

A note about shopping in December: It sounds like you will be cutting back on holiday shopping, and that might be just as well. It is not about what you spend, but how you feel about the person that shines through. Mercury will be retrograde from December 10 to 30, so aim to be done shopping by December 5, no later. It is already too late to buy electronics, as Mercury rules electronics and high tech items. You can buy a gift certificate or give cash to a beloved relative, and that would be a safer way to go.
Now let's talk about romance and fun. Venus, the "I just wanna have fun" planet, moved into Scorpio late last month and will spend all of December with you in time for the holidays. Venus will not move out of your sign until January 7, so you'll get more than your share of party invitations and admiring glances in this festive month. Days when you are likely to thoroughly (and especially) enjoy yourself include December 8, 11, 12, 13, 25, 26, and 30.
Summary
Are you bewildered by all the admiring glances you are getting these days from intriguing admirers across a crowded room? Start to get used to it, dear Scorpio. As Venus glides through Scorpio, you will easily turn heads wherever you go. Not only is Venus perfectly positioned to put you in the spotlight, but Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, will be too, by orbiting with Uranus, planet of surprise, in your house of true love. Keep your eyes open for an intriguing romantic partner, for with all the star power supporting you, a new love could grow into a bonfire before long.
Your finances will need careful watching all month. You appear to have been going through quite a bit of cash, perhaps because you have been buying holiday gifts, or because you have needed some things you have put off buying. It is also possible you've had a change in the status of your employment, but your outlook is good for that in coming months. The high level of expenses you have experienced is likely to abate for a while, starting December 5. That will be a relief, for sure.
