Description:
With such an accomplished cast and the various angles, twists and turns this drama throws at the viewers, under the guidance of Javed Fazil (director - also directed Mehndi) this play was destined to score with the masses.
Chandni Raatein revolves around Javed Shaikh and his two wives played by Faryal Gohar and Mahnoor Baloch - the second wife becoming a necessity for Javed Shaikh in his quest for an heir as the first wife (Faryal) is unable to conceive.
In marked contrast with Faryal Gohar's character which exudes eastern, traditional values, is the character played by Amna Haq - that of a modern, forward thinking, liberal woman. Amna plays the role of Humayun Saeed's (Javed Shaikh's brother in the play) wife. As the play progresses, differences between the two Gharwalis which are apparent right from the outset threaten to disrupt the sweet harmony of the household.
Mahnoor Baloch (Javed Shaikh's second wife in the play) brings with her, her own set of problems - in the form of a child from an earlier marriage (fact which she hides from Javed Shaikh) and an ex-husband who is bent on extortion - threatening to kidnap Mahnoor's son if his demands aren't met.
Continuous twists and turns and the complications that arise as the characters interact with each other along with quality acting by quality actors ensures engrossing viewing experience for the masses.
